The Only Shoes You Need

So this is the deep stuff on my mind tonight. Shoes. And not just any shoes. These shoes. The go anywhere, wear anything, shoe of the future.I love shoes, all kinds, so these have got my attention.

They are $128 a pair, so I don't think I'll be owning them anytime soon...But oh! How many problems could be solved! Think of it! These would be perfect for early mornings when my feet hate heels, for work, for lunch out, church and even date night with the hubby!

"Straight from the office to the house, to the gym, to the park with the kids".

Warm Healing

"...and that's the day she opened the curtains. The sun's heated rays came streaming in with a burst of brilliance. Every dusty corner receded and the whole place filled with light.
Her soul felt like that too.

The song of praise trembling from her lips had opened the curtains to her heart . In an instant, God's perfect light shone in. All the dusty places were revealed, but it didn't hurt. Darkness hurts. Light heals.

6 Observations

While going through my house and decluttering and cleaning today, I observed a few things:

1. I apparently hold the belief that more blankets = better or maybe a safer life. I have gazillions. And I can't seem to part with any of them.

2. Children get extremely tired within 3 minutes when made to vacuum their own rooms, and they feel the need to lie down. Must remember that for future use.

Keep it Simple

This afternoon I took a ride on the golf cart (trash to the dumpster...:)). The Big Black Dog's house on the corner has newly planted beds of marigolds. The trellis at the Magnolia place

Through the Window

She's on the outside looking in.

She sees the glow and hears the joyful din. There's no room for her there, no space, no empty chair.

Fresh Air

Today was one of those days when the air is cooler than usual....

A morning when you wake up and reach for something soft and warm to wrap around your shoulders... As the sun rises and the light slants gently through the windows, you realize that fall is approaching. The sun's light is gentler somehow and the breezes are soft, almost cool.

Where I'm From

I am from iced tea,
From peanut butter and hand me down clothes.

I am from the little mobile home on the farm, always peaceful,

Where praise music flowed from the stereo and laughter ruled every meal.

I am from the wheat, the bluebonnets and the juniper trees,

The irises and hay bales.
From sweet smelling sage and giant grasshoppers.
I am from the heat you can see like waves coming up from the road.
